Intent
At Kingsfleet our curriculum is intended to help the children aspire to be the best they can be, to have aims for the future and know what they need to do to achieve them. We want them to be resilient and confident as they move through school and beyond. We want our pupils toy have a good understanding of themselves, to have empathy, an ability to work with others and to form and maintain positive relationships, treating everyone equally with tolerance and respect.
Implementation
We will teach our pupils age appropriate understanding of healthy relationships through appropriate relationship and sex education. We will teach our children about personal safety in a variety of settings, both online and offline and we will ensure pupils know where and how to get help if needed. Children will be taught through a combination of discrete lessons, assemblies, outside agencies and through school drop down days.
Impact
The impact can be seen through our assessment system which tracks and records pupil progress across the school. The impact can also be gauged through pupil voice, collated through pupil perception interviews from both lead staff and visitors to the school.
The One Cop Stop Policing team came in to talk to Y5/6 about Social Media, Knife Crime and County Lines today. We learnt about ways in which we might be conned by others into making poor choices - and how to guard against this.
